Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tiny Traditions?

Tiny Traditions brings global holidays to life with ready-to-go crafts, stories, recipes, and music — all in one box, delivered to your doorstep. Designed for curious kids ages 4–9, each kit removes the stress of planning, last-minute scrambling, or hunting for supplies. Everything arrives curated, meaningful, and kid-ready, making it easy to share beloved traditions (or discover new ones!) with the next generation.

What makes Tiny Traditions boxes special?

Families love that each box delivers screen-free, hands-on fun that sparks creativity and connects kids with global culture and tradition. Every craft is kid-tested and parent-approved, designed for busy families who want meaningful activities without the prep. Each box includes all materials (just bring your scissors) and comfortably works for two kids. Activities take about 20–30 minutes each and are perfect for ages 4–9.

How does it work?

Step 1: Pick a plan: Individual Festivals · Pick Any 3-Festivals · 6-Festival Bundle.

Step 2: Get celebration boxes delivered

Step 3: Celebrate with family!

What’s included in each Tiny Traditions celebration box?

Every festival box includes:

  • 1 beautifully illustrated storybook
  • 3 hands-on, kid-friendly crafts (materials included for 2 kids or 1 kid + caregiver)
  • 2 simple, festive recipes to make together
  • A curated music playlist
  • A festival guide introducing traditions and meaning

What ages are Tiny Traditions boxes designed for?

Our celebration boxes are thoughtfully created for children ages 4–9, though younger siblings and curious older kids often join in the fun. Activities are hands-on, screen-free, and designed to spark creativity and cultural curiosity.

How many kids does one box work for?

Each box includes supplies for 2 kids (or 1 kid + caregiver).

Can I purchase extra craft materials for a third child or additional children?

At this time, we’re not able to offer add-on craft supplies for additional children. While it’s something we hope to offer as Tiny Traditions grows, providing extras on a case-by-case basis would affect inventory management and shipping consistency across all orders. The good news: our activities are intentionally designed to be shareable and collaborative, so siblings can enjoy creating together.

Will the Diwali and Day of the Dead celebration boxes include a new book this year?

Yes! Each box will feature a brand-new book, along with refreshed crafts — some new, some familiar favorites — all with the same high-quality, hands-on magic families loved last year.

What will the crafts look like?

Families nationwide gave our 2025 Diwali and 2025 Day of the Dead boxes glowing 5-star reviews, and they’re the best preview of our craft quality and style. Peek at those boxes and read a few testimonials — you’ll see why families love Tiny Traditions. Our 2026 boxes will feature refreshed designs — some new, some familiar favorites — with the same high-quality, hands-on magic. Are the crafts messy?

No — we want to keep this friction-free and as effortless as possible for busy parents. We design crafts to be fun and engaging without being overwhelming. Every activity goes through multiple rounds of kid-testing to ensure it feels easy and joyful at home.

Are Tiny Traditions crafts safe for kids?
Yes. All materials in our boxes are non-toxic, and every activity is designed for children ages 4–9. Adult supervision is recommended for all crafts.
⚠️ Choking hazard — contains small parts. Not for children 3 years and under.

How did you choose the 2026 festivals?

We chose the 2026 festivals based on what families asked for, what fits naturally across the calendar year, and what we can craft beautifully and authentically. Each festival brings rich stories and hands-on joy, similar to the experience families loved in our 2025 Diwali and Day of the Dead boxes. We also balanced timing throughout the year so there’s room to design, hand-assemble, and ship each box with care.

How does pre-ordering work?

Because we hand-prepare materials with care, each festival has a pre-order window that closes one month before the celebration date.

  • 6-Festival Bundle: Pre-orders for this close by January 15.
  • Pick-Any-3-Festivals: Order anytime; each festival’s cutoff is one month before its celebration.
  • One-off Individual Boxes: Order anytime; each festival’s cutoff is one month before its celebration.

Why does Tiny Traditions use a pre-order model?

Tiny Traditions is a small business — every box is designed, printed, assembled, and hand-packed with care. Pre-orders allow us to create high-quality celebration boxes without waste and keep pricing family-friendly. Each festival has its own pre-order cutoff about one month prior celebration date. This helps us prepare materials with intention and ensure every box meets the joyful standards Tiny Traditions is known for.

Pre-orders help us:

  • Order the right amount of materials (no waste, no overstock)
  • Maintain high quality — every craft, recipe, and booklet is produced intentionally
  • Keep pricing accessible for families
  • Assemble each box fresh for its upcoming celebration
  • Ship about two weeks before the festival, so families receive it right on time

Why does the Lunar New Year box (and bundles that include it) have an earlier order-by date?

Lunar New Year is the first festival of the year (celebrated on Feb 17), which means we need to begin preparing materials earlier than for the others. Ordering by Jan 15 allows us to design, assemble, and ship your box with care — so it arrives right on time for the celebration. Because of this:

  • The 6-Festival Bundle (which always includes Lunar New Year) must be ordered by Jan 15.
  • Pick-Any-3-Festivals orders also follow this rule if Lunar New Year is one of your chosen festivals.

What are the pricing options?

We offer three flexible ways to celebrate:

1)     6-Festival Bundle: — $195 total ($33/box), save $24 (best value)

2)     Pick-Any-3-Festivals — $104 total ($35/box), save $6

3)     One-Off Individual Boxes — $37/box

Can I send Tiny Traditions boxes as gifts?

Yes! Whether you’re a grandparent, aunt or uncle, godparent, family friend, or the world’s best neighbor, Tiny Traditions boxes make gifting easy — and unforgettable. You can even add a gift note in the shopping cart before checkout and we will tuck it inside the box. For gifting, please note that Apple Pay may replace the recipient’s address with your own. To ensure it ships to the right place, use the Checkout button (not Apple Pay).

Can I send a gift note?

Yes! Add your gift note in the shopping cart before checkout and we’ll tuck it inside the box. 🎁 Important note for Apple Pay users: If you are gifting a Tiny Traditions box, please avoid using Apple Pay at checkout. Apple Pay may replace the recipient’s shipping address with your own, which could send the gift to the wrong place. To ensure it ships correctly, use the regular Checkout button instead of Apple Pay.

How do you ensure authenticity and cultural respect?

Cultural authenticity is core to Tiny Traditions. Each celebration box is co-created with people deeply connected to the culture we’re honoring. Together, we design crafts, stories, recipes, and playlists that celebrate traditions with respect, accuracy, and heart.

When do the boxes ship?

Boxes typically ship about two weeks before each festival.

Is shipping free?

Yes — free U.S. shipping on all orders (avg. $9 savings)!

My box never arrived. What should I do?

Because our boxes are tied to specific festival dates, we cannot offer refunds solely for carrier delays or late delivery when the order was shipped within our stated timeframe. Contact us and we’ll help however we can.

What if I’m part of a school or library or community organization and want to order more than 3 or 6 boxes?

We love this! Reach out to us at hello@tinytraditions.com for collaboration.

Am I signing up for an annual auto-renewing subscription?

No. You pre-pay and there is no auto-renewal. Tiny Traditions is growing, and we expect to offer more festivals each year — so we want families to review before purchasing again.

Do you offer refunds or cancellations? What is your Refund Policy?

All sales are final. Orders cannot be canceled once placed. If anything arrives damaged or incomplete, we’ll fix it — email hello@tinytraditions.com. Here is our complete Refund Policy: https://tinytraditions.com/policies/refund-policy
